Fall Self-Care

8 Fall Self-Care Activities To Nourish You

With the stressful holidays around the corner, self-care is essential during the fall and winter seasons. It’s important to take care of yourself all year round but especially during the holiday season.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and stressed out during the holiday season because of financial strain, family conflict, and a growing to-do list at the end of the year. And with putting everyone else’s needs first, it’s easy to forget about your own needs.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a busy mom trying to juggle it all or just trying to stay sane during the holidays, fall self-care is for everyone.

That’s why I’ve put together a lift of fall self-care activities that you can do this season to recharge and reinvigorate yourself.

Self-Care Has Many Benenefits:

  • Improves your mental and emotional well-being
  • Reduces stress and anxiety
  • Makes you more adaptable and resilient to changes
  • Boosts your self-esteem
  • Improves your relationships

I always encourage people to practice self-care. It’s easy to forget about taking care of yourself when you’re busy, working, and taking care of your family and everyone else. But I truly believe that when you take care of yourself and you’re well, you can take care of others around you better.

That’s why I always encourage people to take care of themselves and the people around them.

Here are some fall-themed self-care activities. I hope that you’ll enjoy them and will get an opportunity to practice them. Let me know in the comments below if there are other fall self-care activities you enjoy doing as well.

COZY FALL SELF-CARE ACTIVITIES

1. Indulge in Autumn Aromatherapy

Grab some candles, essential oils, or incense in your favorite fall scents. There’s nothing like the smell of fall in your home to make you feel good and relaxed.

From pumpkin spice to apple cinnamon pie, there’s a wide range of aromatherapy scents you can pick from. Whether you want something spicy or sweet, there’s a candle that’s calling your name.

2. Give Yourself A Pumpkin Mask Facial

Taking care of your skin and putting on a pumpkin enzyme mask is a great way to get glowing, bright skin.

The benefits of a pumpkin mask include:

  • Contains vitamins A, C, and E to help fight sun damage and wrinkles
  • Contains antioxidants to help fight free radicals
  • Fruit enzymes can naturally and gently exfoliate the skin
  • Contains zinc and potassium to help reduce redness

Not only is a pumpkin mask great for your skin, but it also smells amazing too. You’ll love the smell of pumpkin on your face as you get to reap the benefits of glowing skin after.

3. Journal

The year is not over yet. Journaling and reflecting on how the year has gone is a great opportunity for you to reflect and see if you are happy and meeting the goals you’ve been wanting to.

You can also write what you’re grateful for and some things you would like to accomplish in the remaining months of the year.

4. Binge Watch Holiday Hallmark Movies

Now, I’m not one to sit around and watch movies all day. I do encourage everyone (and myself) to get up and move every day. Daily movement and exercise are good for you.

But let’s be real. There are going to be some days when you’re just exhausted. You just want to relax, have an easy dinner, and enjoy some passive entertainment.

On those days, watch some happy, feel-good Hallmark movies. The ones around the holidays are always the best.

Yes, they can be cheesy and corny. But a little extra cheese and corny maybe everything that you need to help you feel good and cozy inside.

5. Get Warm Cozy Socks

Nothing is better than putting on some warm, fuzzy, and cozy socks when your feet are freezing. I’ve found that wearing socks at night to keep my feet warm has helped me sleep better too.

Grab a pair (or more) of warm, fuzzy socks to keep your feet cozy this fall.

6. Go On A Scenic Fall Hike

Hikes during the fall have a special feel to them. I think that hiking during every season has its own unique experiences because the weather, flower blooms, and plants growing are different with each season.

Hiking during the fall is cooler and breezier. You may enjoy it more because you don’t get hot as easily when you’re hiking in colder temperatures.

The smell of cold air in the mornings is different as well. It’s crispier. You’ll also get to enjoy all the vibrant and beautiful fall colors along your hike such as gold, brown, orange, and taupe. You can hear the leaves crunch and twigs snap as you walk along the trail and if you’re feeling artsy, collect some leaves to make some fall artwork later.

7. Sip and Savor A Fall Flavored Drink

There are a lot of fall-flavored drinks that I enjoy drinking and hopefully you do too. I love a pumpkin chai latte. I love the extra cinnamon and nutmeg in my pumpkin lattes.

My husband loves his pumpkin spice latte. And there’s also apple oat milk espresso or eggnog.

You may even enjoy a mulled wine. Sip, savor, and enjoy these fall flavors.  Put your feet up, cozy up in a corner, and take some time to slow down from the busyness of life and enjoy your drinks while reading a good book or listening to a positive podcast.

8. Soak In A Hot Bath

If you have the luxury of 10 minutes, soak yourself in a hot bath. A bath doesn’t have to be extremely extravagant but it has a lot of benefits.

Benefits of a hot bath:

  • Relaxes sore muscles and joints
  • Can help you get more restful sleep at night
  • May reduce feelings of stress and anxiety
  • Releases endorphins which may help you feel good
  • Help improve cardiovascular heart health because the hot water helps dilate your blood vessels

Soaking yourself in the water is very cleansing (no pun intended) and purifying. Even if you have a lot of stress and things going on in your life, you can just forget about them while you’re in the bath.

Just sit in the tub with warm water, dim the lights, and light some aromatherapy candles.

However long you want to stay in there is up to you but I recommend at least 10-15 minutes to get the full experience. You don’t want to spend more than 30 minutes in a bath because it can be dehydrating.

Remember to drink a glass of water after you get out of the bath to rehydrate yourself.

I haven’t soaked in a bath in years and I did one recently when both of my kids went to bed early and let me tell you, it was incredible!! It was so relaxing and I felt so refreshed afterwards. It made me feel amazing and I’m telling you that it will do wonders for you too. Trust me on this. Soak yourself in a hot bath. You will feel amazing afterward.
